Ordinary Miracles

The taste of a nectarine;
autumn leaves;
shapes of clouds;
the feeling of love;
dolphins frolicking;
a hug from a friend;
shape of a seashell;
the birth of a baby;
rippling muscles;
waves rolling in from the ocean;
the warmth of the sun;
galleries of pink galahs;
a home cooked meal;
fragrance of a rose;
refreshing rain;
river red gums;
twinkling stars;
an athlete at full stretch;
roses in bloom.

Enjoy an ordinary miracle today.

Restrictions

Restrictions are useful in their place
But I wonder when they are applied
And something that was previously free has to be tied
Whether we mightn’t end up with egg on our face

Restrictions by their very nature are chains
Around our head or legs or neck or hands
It might be rope, or wood, or steel or bands
The effect of which leaves someone drained

Restrictions – oh to be free of them all
Not to worry about legal concerns or complaints
But to enjoy life free of various restraints
So we can all relax and have a ball

The Great

Who determines
who is
great?

What marks
are
considered
to be
marks of greatness?

Is greatness
small
or large?
